Do-it-yourself Halloween: making costumes, food and fun - Page 7

Courtesy of FashionistaBeauty news from around the web...Lauren Conrad Tie-Dyes Her HairWe loved dip dye denim, and now the blogosphere is all abuzz with the new 'do Lauren Conrad debuted on her blog last week: hybrid dip dye hair. The tie dye effect is a great quirky twist for summer and is perfect for those looking to give their hair chinese hair a splash of color without going all the way. As a result, fashion blogs everywhere are predicting dip dyed hair will be the next big trend - we suspect fly fishermen everywhere are celebrating. - Via Fashionista Chloë Sevigny Goes BrunetteWe wouldn't expect anything less. Defying the current trend of going red, Sevigny showed off darker locks last week in Manchester, England. The actress and fashion designer is currently playing a transsexual hit man on the show Hit and Miss, as well as accused killer Lizzie Borden on an upcoming HBO miniseries. We're loving the look so far, but we wonder - how long until the natural blonde misses her roots? - Via Us MagazineKate Middleton's (For Once) Uninspiring 'DoIt's finally happened: the usually revered style icon has found an unflattering look. She wore her hair in an overdone half-up, half-down look at the Official Welcome Ceremony to Canada during the Royal Tour last week, piling the top half into a very round bun at her crown. We're thrilled to see Middleton veering away from her signature blow-out, but perhaps she full lace wigs should keep looking. Although this really just makes us like her more - perhaps the Duchess really is human after all. - Via Refinery 29Chanel Models Meant to Look Like BurglarsWe've heard of the fashion police, but now Chanel is taking things to a whole new level. At the recent Fall/Winter 2011/2012 couture show, the fashion house decided to dress their models as burglars, covering their eyes with transparent black lace veils and painting on a smoky-eyed look. In a statement, Chanel revealed that the look was inspired by the fact that the show took place at night and featured a blend of masculine and feminine silhouettes, as well as light-up flashlight shoes. Either crime rates are about to spike, or the veil trend is going to hit hard this summer. - Via RackedPrada Releases Youthful New ScentThis September, Prada will be releasing Prada Candy, a new scent that José Manuel Albesa, chief brand officer of Prada's scent licensee, characterized as "more feminine and more excessive" than previous perfumes. The perfume will be the third scent pillar for Prada, and differs from the fashion house's past ventures both in the actual fragrance and in its packaging. The box portrays lace front wigs a drawing of a blonde girl on a bright pink background - a far cry from Prada's typical muted colors and understated packaging. Perhaps Armani will be eating his words? - Via WWDBlake Lively Sports Braided UpdoIn a fresh new take on the messy braid trend, the ever-stylish Blake Lively wore a gorgeous braided updo at the Bafta Brits to Watch event this week. The actress weaved a smattering of small braids into her luscious locks and then twirled them into a messy bun at the nape of her neck for an effortlessly elegant look. Though we imagine this hairstyle would make us look like we'd just emerged from a tornado, Lively manages to make even the messiest of looks appear regal. - Via BeautyHigh
